Making a contribution often provides benefits to donors. In addition to tax benefits, some gifts can provide current income, while ultimately benefiting the foundation.

Contributions of cash made via check or credit card. If you itemize your taxes, charitable contributions are fully deductible upto 50% of donations under sec 80 G of IT act.
If you have shares of stock or mutual funds that have gained value over the years, donation those to the fund can provide you with significant tax savings, as well as a charitable tax deduction. Shares of securities that are transferred directly to the foundation will not incur capital gains tax. In addition you can take a full charitable deduction for the current fair market value of the stock.
Honor friends or loved ones through a tribute gift to the AAP. Making contributions to the AAP in someone’s name is meaningful way to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or retirement or to honor the memory of someone special.
Life insurance can be used to make a charitable gift in two ways. Most simply, you can make the foundation the beneficiary of the policy. You can also donate a life insurance policy to AAP by naming the AAP as the owner and beneficiary. If the policy is not paid up, the donor can receive a charitable deduction for the cost of the premium payments.
Including the foundation in your will or charitable trust is a simple way to leave a legacy. You can designate a specific amount of percentage of your estate to contribute. If you have already prepared your will, you can easily it with a codicil to include a charitable bequest without redoing the entire will. Contact the AAP office or your legal advisor for details.

The AAP accepts gifts of real estate that are not encumbered by trusts, deeds, liens, or mortgages. A donor can also make a gift of a house while retaining lifetime use of property.
